Job summary

Provectus is seeking a senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join our client engagements, embedding with operators to learn the work and rebuild it from first principles. You will ship production GenAI systems, define rigorous evals, and own outcomes for enterprise customers in financial services, insurance, and healthcare.

You will work hands-on with Python/TypeScript, AWS, and OpenAI Claude/Cowork tools in a remote-friendly, high-impact environment.

Qualifications

8+ years building software with hands-on production code you were accountable for.
Willing to spend weeks in the operator’s seat before coding.
Able to learn domains fast and argue with domain experts.
Shipped GenAI/LLM systems to production, not just demos.
Built or owned an eval suite for non-deterministic systems.
Strong fundamentals; Python and/or TypeScript; depth over breadth.
Cloud-native on AWS with containers, Kubernetes/ECS, IaC, CI/CD.
Able to converse with BU heads and CTOs.
Solid AI/ML foundations for reasoning about failure modes.
Hands-on with Claude Code/Cowork.
Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Do the operator’s job for two to four weeks at the start of an engagement.
Learn the function from inside domains like underwriting or revenue-cycle work.
Redesign the function from first principles with the operator and Forward Deployed Executive.
Ship production GenAI systems into the client environment (LLM apps, agentic workflows, pipelines).
Build evaluation harness and define working metrics tied to business KPIs.
Write production code across backend, data pipelines, and AI layers (Python/TypeScript).
Deploy systems to production on AWS with observability and maintainability.
Start from the blueprint; feed the field learnings back into the baseline.
Work in a pair with Forward Deployed Executive targeting KPI-driven outcomes.
Drive adoption; ensure the system is used, not bypassed.
Be credible with engineers, operators, and executives alike.
Shape commitments before execution and own the outcome.
Maintain alignment with the blueprint and client needs.
