Job summary

Provectus is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to embed with client teams, build production GenAI systems, and own outcomes from day one. You will spend weeks in the operator’s seat, learn domain specifics, and redesign functions from first principles with Forward Deployed Executives.

Expect hands-on coding across AI, backend, and data pipelines on AWS. You’ll ship LLM-powered workflows, establish rigorous evals, and work directly with senior stakeholders to drive measurable business

Qualifications

• 8+ years building software with production code
• Willing to spend weeks doing others’ jobs (claims processing, underwriting, revenue-cycle) before coding
• Ability to quickly learn new domains and discuss with domain experts
• Experience shipping GenAI/LLM systems to production, not demos
• Have an eval suite for a non-deterministic system and can explain metrics
• Strong fundamentals; productive in unfamiliar codebases/langs
• Cloud-native on AWS; containers, Kubernetes/ECS, IaC, CI/CD
• Comfort with ambiguity and ownership; independent problem solving
• Strong AI/ML foundations; understanding model failure modes
• Proficient in Python and/or TypeScript; able to adapt to customer needs
• Experience with Claude Code/Cowork is a plus
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Do the operator’s job for two to four weeks at the start of an engagement
• Reach working fluency in a new domain within weeks
• Redesign the function from first principles with the operator and Forward Deployed Executive
• Ship production GenAI systems into the customer environment
• Build evaluation harness and instrument success against KPIs
• Write production code across backend, data pipelines, and AI layer
• Take systems to production on AWS with observability and maintainability
• Leverage blueprint baselines to inform future engagements
