Job summary

Provectus is seeking an experienced Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join our team. You will embed with clients, learn their workflows from inside, and rebuild functions from first principles. You’ll ship production GenAI systems, design evaluation harnesses, and own outcomes with senior stakeholders in a remote-friendly setup.

You’ll work across cloud-native AWS delivery, Python/TypeScript, and enterprise AI blueprints in financial services, insurance, and healthcare sectors.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building software with production code responsibilities.
• Willing to spend weeks doing someone else’s job before coding.
• Ability to learn new domains quickly.
• Shipped GenAI/LLM systems to production, not demos.
• Built/evaluated non-deterministic system evals and metrics.
• Strong fundamentals; productive in unfamiliar codebases; Python/TypeScript.
• Cloud-native on AWS: containers, Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD.
• Credible with senior stakeholders.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ownership.
• Solid AI/ML foundations; understand model failure modes.
• Hands-on production experience with Claude Code / Cowork.
• Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Take the seat and learn the function from inside the client operation.
• Reach working fluency in a new domain in weeks and redesign the function from first principles.
• Build production GenAI systems into the customer environment (LLM apps, agentic workflows, data pipelines).
• Construct the evaluation harness before building features; define success metrics and instrument them.
• Write production code across backend, data pipelines, and AI layers; AWS-centric stack.
• Take systems to production on AWS; feed learnings back into the blueprint.
