Job summary

Kaha Consulting is recruiting a Senior Functional Consultant to lead the analysis, design, and delivery of Fenergo solutions for major financial institutions. You will manage client relationships, gather requirements, and drive successful SaaS deployments with senior stakeholders.

The role requires strong business analysis, solution design capabilities, and excellent communication. You will work in a fast-paced consultancy environment, supporting multinational clients and advancing regulatory

Kaha Consulting is the US Consulting arm of Kaha, founded in South Africa. We are looking for new team members to help grow the US and North American presence of our company. Using the Fenergo Platform, we help financial institutions rapidly achieve their business outcomes, making onboarding of clients faster and reducing huge amounts of manual work. Because our business depends on the strength of these external client relationships, you are the face of Kaha to some of the world’s leading financial institutions. As a Senior Functional Consultant, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, and delivery of product solutions for these institutions as their professional services partner, to deliver these outcomes, working directly with client stakeholders.

The Platform

Fenergo v10 (aka FenX) is a cloud-native SaaS platform built on AWS that is used to help banks and financial institutions go about their business in an efficient and safe way. It is a serverless, highly scalable web platform providing features and full configuration & administration capabilities. All features are delivered through a layer of highly available APIs offering full feature capabilities to any authorized consumer.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain deep product, platform and tool knowledge within the Fenergo system.
• Understand and manage the external client relationship through the process of gathering requirements, design & build, validation, training and support.
• Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for external client stakeholders, including up to senior/executive level, helping to drive the commercial health of the relationship (scope, expectations, satisfaction) and managing scope control, often amid competing commercial dynamics.
• Lead the functional stream delivery approach, structure, analysis, solution design, configuration, and evaluation of the SaaS platform in line with business requirements.
• Perform investigations (spikes) to meet requirements and complete gap analysis using configuration, documenting the options, outcomes, and recommendations.
• Deliver product and solution demonstrations, and presentations to new and existing clients, including to client leadership and executive audiences.
• Drive & facilitate the change management processes and associated client discussions.
• Research and analyse business, regulatory, and technical topics to support the formulation and specification of client requirements and solution design.
• Review and recommend changes to existing configuration processes based on changing business needs, while anticipating the impacts to other areas of the solution configuration.
• Provide product leadership within the design discussion and influence clients in line with the Fenergo product strategy and industry best practices.
• Provide SME support to the Sales / Pre-Sales teams and Professional Services client-facing project teams.
• Mentor and support junior team members, including training and knowledge transfer within the product Configuration and Consulting practice, and ongoing feedback for their growth.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in an external client-facing capacity for a consultancy, software/SaaS vendor, systems integrator, or professional services firm, representing your employer directly to a paying customer and not solely managing stakeholders internal to a single organisation (e.g. leading client workshops, presenting solution designs to client leadership, managing expectations against a contractual scope or delivery timeline).
• Minimum 4 years business analysis experience, preferably in the financial services industry in a client-facing consulting role (we also value experience brought in from other industries and roles!).
• Experience with solution design techniques (e.g. business process modelling).
• Good knowledge of IT systems, architectures and terminology.
• Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills, particularly presenting to external audiences up to senior/executive level.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
• Bachelor’s degree in business or technology discipline.
• Working in an Agile Software Development environment.
• Experience in Financial Services processes.
• Knowledge of Financial Regulatory topics.
• Database, SQL and reporting skills.
• Previous experience in building cross-system integrations.
• Experience working on configuration of comparable technology platforms (e.g. MS Dynamics/Salesforce).
• Experience working with ALM systems, e.g. Azure/JIRA/Trello.
• Experience with Financial Services processes, regulations and products, particularly relating to financial institution client/product-onboarding.
