Job summary

Pearson seeks a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer to build scalable backend services in Python with Django/DRF and craft modern frontend interfaces using Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript. You will design and optimize data pipelines, implement serverless architectures on AWS, and ensure robust data quality across distributed systems.

The role spans API development, data transformations, and cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK (Python) and Terraform.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services with Python (Django/DRF) and modern frontend frameworks.
• Strong data engineering background with ETL/ELT and data pipelines.
• Hands-on AWS cloud experience including serverless, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, and VPC networking.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, and DRF.
• Build and document RESTful APIs using DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Implement robust data validation using Pydantic.
• Develop authentication using django-rest-knox, OAuth, and MSAL/Azure AD.
• Create frontend interfaces with Nuxt 4, Vue 3, and TypeScript.
• Manage frontend state with Pinia and style with Tailwind CSS/Nuxt UI.
• Design data engineering pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
• Build ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue, Pandas, NumPy.
• Develop serverless apps with AWS Lambda and Mangum.
• Manage caching with Redis/ElastiCache and use PostgreSQL 14+.
• Provision cloud infra with AWS CDK (Python) and Terraform.
• Support Docker-based deployments and ECR registries.
• Establish CI/CD with GitHub Actions and ensure code quality.
• Follow AWS security best practices (IAM, Secrets Manager, WAF).
