Job summary

Pearson is hiring a Data Engineer / Full Stack Engineer to build scalable backend services, data pipelines, APIs, and cloud-native solutions. The role blends Python/Django with modern frontend work using Nuxt 4 and Vue 3, backed by AWS serverless and data processing workflows.

You will work across backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure, and data engineering in an Agile setting, shaping secure authentication, data quality, and scalable architectures. This is a hands-on, full-stack opportunity.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Django REST Framework and API design (OpenAPI/Swagger).
• Experience building secure auth with OAuth, django-rest-knox and cloud IAM.
• Strong Python backend with data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, Django, and DRF.
• Create and document RESTful APIs with DRF/OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Build robust data validation and API response modeling with Pydantic.
• Develop secure authentication/authorization with django-rest-knox, OAuth, and Azure AD integrations.
• Create frontend interfaces with Nuxt 4, Vue 3, TypeScript and manage state with Pinia.
• Design data engineering pipelines for ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery.
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows using AWS Glue, Pandas, NumPy and related tools.
• Implement event-driven architectures with SQS, SNS, Lambda, EventBridge; serverless with Lambda & Mangum.
