Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Staff FPGA Engineer to lead FPGA design, verification, and deployment for space-grade hardware. You will collaborate with system engineering, hardware, and software teams to define architectures and interfaces, ensuring robust high-speed data paths for satellite and aerospace applications.

The role requires HDL mastery, experience with radiation-tolerant devices, and the ability to present technical material to customers and executives.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 12 years of FPGA design experience at HDL level.
• Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog.
• Experience with radiation-tolerant FPGA devices and mitigation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead FPGA design and verification for space-based programs.
• Define architecture, interfaces, and specifications with cross-functional teams.
• Develop FPGA architectures from system requirements with power considerations.
• Present design reviews to customers and executives; contribute to proposals.
• Mentor junior designers to improve efficiency and quality.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies for future space applications.
