Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Staff FPGA Engineer to lead FPGA design and verification for spaceflight hardware. You will drive architecture across cross-functional teams, manage high-speed interfaces, and ensure radiation-tolerant implementations meet stringent requirements. You will mentor junior designers and contribute to design reviews and proposals.

The role demands hands-on HDL development, rigorous verification, and strong communication skills in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
• 12 years of FPGA design experience at HDL level with verification and deployment for space or aerospace applications.
• Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog design capture and HDL tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead FPGA design and verification efforts for space-based programs ensuring compliance with industry standards and requirements.
• Define FPGA architecture with system engineering and software teams; specify interfaces and SWAP-C considerations.
• Present design reviews to customers and executives and contribute to proposal writing.
