Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal FPGA Design Engineer in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on FPGA/ASIC design and verification using VHDL/Verilog, with responsibilities across architecture, coding, simulation, and integration for DoD-class weapon system products.

The position is 100% onsite in Tucson and requires an active DoD secret clearance or the ability to obtain it, along with U.S. citizenship. RTX offers a broad benefits package and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• FPGA/ASIC design (VHDL and/or Verilog coding) or FPGA/ASIC verification (SystemVerilog coding).
• Xilinx or Microsemi devices and flow tools.
• Delivering FPGA/ASIC solutions to system level applications.
• Hands on experience with integration and debug of FPGA/ASIC devices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver production-quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept to production.
• Architect FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and CONOPS.
• Translate system-level requirements into FPGA requirements.
• Design and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability.
• Verify designs using directed and constrained random tests and track coverage.
• Drive projects and schedules on time and budget.
• Create complete documentation including requirements, verification plans, and user guides.
• Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to junior engineers.
