Job summary

ShipBob, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join a fast-paced finance team, owning transportation FP&A, building forecasts, and partnering with the Transportation team to explain variances and drive value.

This hybrid role in our Chicago HQ requires strong modeling, clear communication, and the ability to influence senior leaders with data-driven insights across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of FP&A experience or related
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule in Chicago office
• Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for stakeholders.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of NetSuite, Smartview, SQL, PowerBI and Power Query preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transportation initiatives monthly and communicate key drivers and variances to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to report on weekly performance, focusing on Transportation costs and margins.
• Manage relationships with Transportation team to build bottoms-up forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support development and implementation of models and processes for new strategic transportation initiatives.
• Prepare the annual operating plan with Transportation to build plans and budgets.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting presentations for investors and the board.
• Provide analysis of key operational metrics and communicate findings to business partners.
• Develop and improve financial models and procedures to support company objectives.
• Identify opportunities to optimize investments behind key strategies.
• Network with stakeholders across the company to align objectives.
