Job summary

ShipBob, a leading global fulfillment platform, seeks a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) to join a fast-paced finance team. You will forecast, analyze variances, create performance reports, and develop board materials to support profitable growth, serving as a liaison between Finance and Transportation.

You will partner with the FP&A team to enhance ship margin analysis, forecasts, and strategic projects, while delivering monthly and quarterly investor-facing presentations and driving improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related field.
• 3PL or relevant experience in Transportation.
• 3-5 years of experience in FP&A or another related field.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule in our Chicago office.
• Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• High comfort level with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with NetSuite, Smartview, SQL, PowerBI, and Power Query preferred.
• Strong partnerships with senior management and teams.
• Self-starter with deadline-driven detail orientation.
• Ability to navigate a dynamic startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly analysis on transportation initiatives and communicate drivers and variances to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to report on weekly performance related to Transportation and forecast shifts in ship costs and margins.
• Manage relationships with Transportation team to build bottoms-up forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop and implement models and processes for new strategic transportation initiatives.
• Prepare the annual operating plan with the Transportation team and convert it to the financial budget.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly investor and board presentations with key metrics and budget variances.
• Analyze key operating metrics, develop margin analysis, and share findings with business partners.
• Leverage knowledge to improve models and procedures and drive continuous improvement.
• Automate and streamline existing files, finding feasible workarounds for complex datasets.
• Drive strategic thinking and partner with management across the company to advance key initiatives.
• Proactively provide creative solutions to business needs and optimize investments behind core strategies.
• Engage stakeholders across the company to understand objectives and how to achieve them.
