Job summary

Venerable is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Actuarial Manager within the Controllership team. You will report to a VP Managing Actuary and partner with Finance and Risk to deliver actuarial analysis and financial reporting.

This role emphasizes quality improvements, process efficiency, and effective storytelling of results. You will lead a team, develop talent, and drive initiatives across valuation, hedging, capital projections, and regulatory responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or related business discipline.
• FSA or Career ASA credential.
• 7+ years financial, insurance industry, or actuarial experience.
• Excellent analytical skills and deep knowledge of insurance products, regulations, or insurance company structure.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts across varied audiences; internally and externally.
• Ability to challenge current methodologies and develop solutions for complex actuarial problems.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Managerial experience required; able to lead, coach and advise teams.
• Strong desire to learn and grow, including understanding accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with actuarial valuation team to develop and understand monthly financial results.
• Interface with key business partners to improve analytics and communicate results clearly.
• Evaluate financial models to compare actual results.
• Streamline financial data processes and improve efficiency.
• Support technology initiatives to enhance control of analytics.
• Lead corporate projects supporting company strategy.
• Assist accounting teams with regulatory requests and financial projections.
