Job summary

Venerable seeks a Financial Planning and Analysis Actuarial Manager to lead reporting and analytics from the Controllership team. You will collaborate with Finance and Risk, including Valuation, Hedging, RBC, and Capital Projections, to deliver actionable insights and improve processes.

You will drive financial reporting accuracy, participate in strategic initiatives, and mentor a team of actuaries and analysts to strengthen overall controls and decision support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or related business discipline; FSA or Career ASA.
• 7+ years financial, insurance industry, or actuarial experience.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of insurance products and regulation.
• Excellent communication across diverse audiences; ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Ability to challenge methodologies and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Managerial experience; able to coach and develop team members.
• Willingness to learn and grow across accounting standards and related areas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with actuarial valuation teams to understand monthly results.
• Interface with business partners to improve analytics and transparency of results.
• Evaluate financial models to compare actual results with projections.
• Streamline financial data processes and improve controls.
• Support technology initiatives that enhance analytics efficiency.
• Lead corporate projects aligned with company strategy.
• Assist accounting teams with regulatory requests and projections.
• Lead, coach, and develop the actuarial/finance team.
