Job summary

Neural Earth seeks a Senior Forward Deployed Underwriter to own a carrier or reinsurer book, run Prometheus against exposure, and explain divergences to a Chief Actuary. You will sit inside the book and drive the commercial argument with a practitioner focus, reporting to the Head of Revenue and collaborating with the CEO to secure revenue.

This is a hands-on, non-sales role requiring deep actuarial experience, fluency with industry tools, and the ability to translate technical insights into

Qualifications

• 6 to 9 years inside a carrier, reinsurer, or MGA; pricing actuary or underwriting lead.
• Ownership of a loss ratio; ability to name the book, state, year, and number.
• Fluency with Touchstone, RMS, or AIR as a practitioner, not just vendor use.
• Network at decision level with Chief Actuaries and Heads of Cat Modeling.
• Willingness to travel ~40%.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite with the customer; embed in carrier books and validate model accuracy.
• Author memos diagnosing loss ratio divergences and recommended actions.
• Create the account’s commercial and technical narrative to secure revenue.
• Translate learning from underwriting into product roadmap with engineering input.
• Diagnose divergence and articulate which issues are real vs. perceived.
