Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers, shaping data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and deliver end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, ML/AI, and application development. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires strong engineering skills, curiosity, and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of data engineering, data platforms, analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient coding in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with multiple cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.
• CI/CD experience for production deployments.
• Familiarity with MLOps and AI models.
• Strong architecture, design, and customer-facing delivery skills.
• Willingness to travel ~20%.
• Databricks Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade customer technical projects delivering reference architectures, custom apps, data ingestion, and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Bootstrap or implement customer projects to ensure successful adoption of Databricks.
• Lead architecture and design decisions ensuring security, scalability, and alignment with customer needs.
• Collaborate with engineering, PM, architect and customer teams to deliver required components.
• Provide product and implementation feedback to Databricks teams and guide rapid issue resolution.
