Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers on data & AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires delivering production-grade solutions, guiding transformational projects, and embedding with customer teams to ensure successful outcomes with strong customer empathy.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript or modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery including reference architectures and data ingestion pipelines.
• Guide transformational big data projects from end-to-end design to deployment.
• Embed with customer teams to ensure successful adoption of Databricks solutions.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring security, scalability, and alignment with customer needs.
