Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers to build and productionize data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires engineering excellence, curiosity, and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Designing end-to-end data architectures combining pipelines, ML/AI models, and UIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery including reference architectures, data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Own architecture decisions to ensure secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with customer needs and Databricks best practices.
• Embed with customer teams and provide feedback to product and support teams.
• Develop reusable assets and accelerators to scale impact across accounts.
