Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers to build and productionize data & AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and deliver end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI and application development while collaborating with engineering, product, and developer relations.

This hands-on, customer-facing role requires hands-on coding in Python/Scala/JS, cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), and the ability to

Qualifications

6+ years in data engineering, data platforms, analytics, or software engineering.
Proficient in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frameworks.
Deep experience with Apache Spark and Spark runtime internals.
Familiar with CI/CD for production deployments.
Knowledge of MLOps and AI model deployment.
Experience delivering end-to-end data architectures and apps.

Responsibilities

Lead production-grade customer projects delivering end-to-end solutions on the Databricks platform.
Design reference architectures, build custom apps, and data ingestion pipelines.
Guide transformational big data projects with customers from design to deployment.
Own architecture decisions ensuring security, scalability, and alignment with best practices.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to meet customer needs.
Provide feedback to product and support to improve implementations.
