Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to lead production-grade data & AI solutions on the Databricks platform. You will own architectures, drive design decisions, and deliver end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

The role is customer-facing and hands-on, requiring strong coding skills in Python/Scala/JS, cloud experience, and the ability to translate complex needs into scalable deployments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of robust end-to-end data architectures combining pipelines, models and interfaces.
• Experience delivering technical projects with scope, timelines and measurable outcomes.
• Doc and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver production-grade data & AI solutions on the Databricks platform.
• Design reference architectures, data ingestion, and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide customers on architecture and design to ensure secure, scalable deployments.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to meet engagement goals.
• Provide feedback to product teams and assist with rapid issue resolution.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver measurable impact.
