Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a Forklift Operator for our dock/warehouse in the United States. The role focuses on safe, accurate movement and documentation of freight within a multimodal terminal, warehouse, or dock environment.

Certification and training support are provided as needed, with opportunities to mentor newer staff. The position requires 3+ years of dock/warehouse experience, a forklift certification, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• English communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to verify freight counts, quantities, and weights.
• Willingness to learn basic computer systems and scanners.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading per safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight with handheld devices.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment.
• Train and mentor other Material Handlers.
