Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and move freight in a multimodal terminal or warehouse. You will scan and document cargo, mentor teammates, and help uphold forklift safety protocols.

Requirements include a valid forklift certification and 3+ years dock experience; strong English communication and basic math skills are essential. Onsite, Mon-Fri schedule, with potential overtime based on need.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift certification/licensure required or ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience.
• Ability to read numbers and barcodes, and complete basic freight documentation.
• Strong English communication, both verbal and written.
• Ability to learn and operate basic computer systems and scanners.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklifts and other MHE, following safety procedures.
• Move, stage, and sort freight between dock doors, trailers, and warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Label, scan, and track freight to ensure accuracy and documentation integrity.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading and maintain a clean dock environment.
