Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and move freight within a multimodal terminal and warehouse environment. You will assist with documentation, scanning, and maintaining a clean, safe dock.

The role requires certification or the ability to obtain it, 3+ years of dock/warehouse experience, and strong English communication skills. Work schedule is Monday–Friday, onsite, with potential for overtime based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure or ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, to understand safety and operational instructions.
• Ability to recognize numbers, labels, barcodes, and freight markings accurately.
• Willingness to learn basic computer systems and handheld scanners.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks, and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and designated areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight for accuracy and documentation integrity.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues or safety concerns.
