Forward Air Corporation is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, and move freight within a multimodal terminal. This onsite role requires certification, 3+ years of dock experience, and strong English communication.

The position demands long shifts, physical stamina, and adherence to safety policies while maintaining documentation accuracy and productive dock operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure required (or ability to obtain).
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to recognize numbers, labels, barcodes, and freight markings accurately; basic arithmetic skills.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks, and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight using handheld devices and systems.
• Identify damaged freight and report safety or equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe dock environment and follow PPE standards.
• Train, mentor, and support development of other Material Handlers.
