Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and move freight in a multimodal terminal or warehouse. The role involves operating sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE, maintaining documentation accuracy, and supporting dock productivity with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The position requires forklift certification, 3+ years of dock/warehouse experience, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift certification/licensure or ability to obtain before operating equipment.
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Must communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate MHE such as pallet jacks, dollies, hand trucks, order pickers, and reach trucks with training.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklifts and MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between docks and trailers.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading per safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight with handheld devices.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues promptly.
• Maintain a safe, clean dock environment.
• Work assigned schedules including nights and weekends.
