Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced systems engineer to support the New Glenn Upper Stage and Payload Accommodations program. You will lead systems engineering activities, write verification plans, and manage interfaces with internal and external customers, ensuring safe and successful launch operations.

You will collaborate with vehicle operations teams, define constraints, and contribute to risk management and regulatory compliance in a highly regulated aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering or other technical field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Fluids, Thermal, Propulsion, Cryogenics, Pneumatic systems.
  • Experience in analysis, design, testing, or launch operations.
  • Hands-on experience in developing, authoring, and implementing integrated tests or operating launch vehicles.
  • Ability to operate under time pressure with evolving requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead through influence and work in teams.
  • Experience in system engineering on launch vehicles or spacecraft.

Responsibilities

  • Support Vehicle and Ground System Project Leads with systems engineering activities.
  • Develop and implement verification plans and strategies for requirements verification.
  • Author requirements: decomposition, analysis, traceability, and verification.
  • Negotiate interfaces and coordinate between internal and external customers.
  • Write operations documents defining testing requirements, lifecycle, maintenance, and interfaces.
  • Define operational constraints for end-to-end safe handling and operation of the subsystem.
  • Develop and maintain CONOPS for pre-launch and flight operations.
  • Collaborate with test, launch operations, and autonomous flight teams to integrate constraints.
  • Provide real-time on-console engineering support for tests, launches, and recovery.
  • Perform post-flight data reviews for the Fluids subsystem.
