Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a fluids and thermal systems engineer to join our New Glenn program. You will design, analyze, and integrate pressurized fluid systems for flight hardware, from concept through production, including tubing routing, components, and safety analyses.

You will develop models, run experiments, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to validate performance and ensure safe, repeatable spaceflight. Relocation and travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Four-year aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (or similar).
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar fluid-systems role.
  • Experience with solid modelling, P&IDs, and document control.
  • Able to read fabrication and installation drawings.
  • Knowledge of piping components and fluid hardware.
  • Experience with Creo and ANSYS for design and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and test fluid systems including pneumatic, cryogenic, thermal, and environmental control systems.
  • Develop and validate models of fluid systems using relevant software tools.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data to understand system and component performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fluid systems into vehicle structure.
  • Prepare technical documentation and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input for continuous improvement.
  • Good project management skills, including vendor management, scheduling, and budget tracking.
  • Author component specifications and manage suppliers through design, development, qualification and delivery of flight hardware.
