Job summary

Blue Origin in Florida is seeking an engineer to support the testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of fluid systems for launch facilities and vehicles. The role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, including high-pressure gas and hydraulic systems, with a focus on quality and safety.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to author procedures, perform safety analyses, and guide work using the hierarchy of controls.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
  • 2+ years with design or fluid system operation, including high pressure gas or high pressure hydraulic systems.
  • Experience writing and executing test plans and procedures for qualification, acceptance, and operations of hazardous and/or safety critical components and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams composed of multiple roles and disciplines to achieve a common goal
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to build, operate, and maintain a world class launch site and launch vehicle
  • Author and run procedures for commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and fluid system operations
  • Collaborate on system safety, perform hazards analysis and job hazards analyses; guide work using hierarchy of controls for safety
  • Operate and maintain launch pad piping systems including hydraulic and pneumatic piping systems
  • Assist with oversight commissioning and operation of new or modified piping/pressure systems
  • Occasional travel may be necessary
  • Occasional second shift may be necessary
