Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer to support the design, analysis, development, and qualification of pressurized fluid and gas systems for its New Glenn launch vehicle. You will contribute to mechanical design, layouts, modeling, testing, and vendor management in a highly technical environment.

You will join a team focused on safety, reliability, and performance across extreme environments, from cryogenic to hot gas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years proven experience.
  • Proven experience in the design of aerospace fluid or mechanical systems.
  • Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred).
  • Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to analyze pressurized systems and secondary structures (ANSYS preferred).
  • Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Proven understanding of fluid components such as valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Experience with Project Management initiatives such as schedule maintenance and production and vendor management.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, analysis, development, and qualification of pressurized liquid and gas systems on a reusable launch vehicle.
  • Contribute to detailed mechanical design, requirements, layouts, analysis, component selection, modeling, drafting, manufacturing, and test definition.
  • Apply skills in mechanical design, fluid/thermal analysis, structural analysis, material selection, and vendor/project management.
  • Work with a team of engineers to advance safe human spaceflight and maintain rigorous quality.
