Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the United States is seeking a senior mechanical/ aerospace engineer to lead the design, analysis, and qualification of pressurized fluid systems for a reusable launch vehicle. You will work across mechanical design, fluid and thermal analysis, and testing to ensure safety and performance in extreme environments.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s in mechanical or aerospace engineering with 5+ years of relevant aerospace experience, proficiency in Creo and ANSYS, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent 5+ years proven experience.
  • Proven experience in the design of aerospace fluid or mechanical systems.
  • Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred).
  • Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to analyze pressurized systems and secondary structures (ANSYS preferred).
  • Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Proven understanding of fluid components such as valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Experience with Project Management initiatives such as schedule maintenance and production and vendor management.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analysis, development, and qualification of pressurized liquid and gas systems on a reusable launch vehicle.
  • Contribute to mechanical design, fluid/thermal analysis, structural analysis, material selection, manufacturing processes, engineering release, and test definition.
  • Lead and collaborate on vendor and project management activities.
