Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a design engineer to develop, release, and support engineering artifacts for the MK2 Crew Lander propulsion system. You will own CAD models for propulsion fluid hardware and coordinate across design, analysis, and manufacturing teams throughout the lifecycle.

You will mentor junior engineers, perform basic structural analysis, and ensure manufacturability and cost principles are applied. This role is based in Seattle with a focus on safety and collaboration.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience designing tubes, fluid components, secondary structure, etc.
• 5+ years of experience generating 3D models and drawings in Creo for complex fluid hardware.
• Experience releasing model based designs
• Demonstrated ability to mentor entry level engineers
• Experience performing structural hand calculations and analysis with tools such as ANSYS.
• Experience interpreting P&IDs
• Expertise in ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerance
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

• Leading design for manufacturability efforts for fluid component assemblies
• Integrating with operations for the fabrication and installation of hardware
• Performing basic structural analysis on fluid system hardware
