Job summary

The University of Wyoming is seeking a Senior Manager, Fleet & Transit Maintenance to lead daily operations for campus fleet and transit services. You will ensure safe operation, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs across university vehicles, with emphasis on DOT/FTA compliance and cost control.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include an Associate's degree or equivalent, or vocational/onsite training.
• 5 years of work-related experience and supervisory experience are expected.
• Requires ASE certifications in Medium/Heavy Truck and/or ASE Transit Bus.
• Valid Wyoming driver's license with MVR; ability to obtain CDL within 1 year.
• Ability to pass drug and/or alcohol screening per UW policy.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily fleet and transit maintenance operations and scheduling.
• Establish procedures and standards for maintenance and repair of vehicles.
• Prepare preventive maintenance schedules meeting DOT/FTA standards.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel/gas vehicles and equipment for safe operation.
• Use Fleet Management software to keep records of inspections and repairs.
• Analyze maintenance costs and provide budgetary input and recommendations.
• Oversee shop safety and supervise staff, including hiring and training.
• Manage campus fueling operations and related system issues.
