Job summary

Young World Physical Education seeks a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance operations for the transportation fleet, including school buses and passenger vehicles. You will supervise 7–8 staff, set priorities, and drive preventive maintenance across the fleet.

The role requires a CDL Class B, knowledge of fleet software, and strong regulatory compliance. Collaboration with operations, vendors, and leadership ensures safe, reliable transportation for students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class B with no air brake restriction required; P and S endorsements preferred or obtainable within one year.
• ASE certifications and/or Virginia State Inspector Certification preferred or obtainable within one year.
• 3+ years of mechanical, transportation, fleet maintenance, supervisory experience or related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate all fleet maintenance operations.
• Supervise 7–8 maintenance employees including mechanics and support staff.
• Establish daily work assignments and maintenance priorities.
• Develop and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Monitor fleet performance, trends, and warranty opportunities.
• Manage vendor relationships and maintenance contracts.
