Job summary

Zoox in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Senior Team Lead, Fleet Support for Base Operations to act as technical player-coach and operational owner for daily vehicle maintenance and strategic deployment of the Robotaxi fleet. You will coach technicians, develop SOPs, enforce EH&S and 5S, and translate high-level goals into practical daily priorities while elevating floor constraints to leadership.

Qualifications

8+ years hands-on automotive technician experience.
4+ years people leadership experience in technical environments.
Experience implementing SOPs and standard work.
Strong EH&S and 5S knowledge and practices.
Proficient in automotive diagnostics and CAN/LIN systems.
Willingness to travel locally and nationally (50%+).

Responsibilities

Manage full team lifecycle: planning, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management.
Coach technicians and leads with clear expectations and feedback.
Develop and enforce SOPs across inspections, maintenance, and upgrades.
Use data and root-cause analysis to improve throughput and uptime.
Ensure tools, parts, and facilities are standardized and available.
Champion EH&S and 5S; maintain a clean, compliant work environment.
Identify and mitigate safety risks with corrective actions.
Define and track KPIs for fleet readiness, quality, and downtime.
Collaborate with Engineering, Test, and Facilities for alignment with roadmaps.
Lead scaling initiatives for fleet size, new platforms and sites.
Serve as technical escalation point for complex maintenance.
Provide data-backed updates to leadership on risks and trade-offs.
Coordinate with Local leadership on location needs and escalations.
