Job summary

Zoox seeks a Senior Team Lead, Fleet Support for Base Operations to act as a hands-on mentor and operations owner. You will oversee daily vehicle maintenance, drive SOPs, and enforce EH&S and 5S standards while aligning with Engineering, Facilities, and Operations Leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on automotive technician experience.
• 4+ years people leadership experience in technical environments.
• Proven experience implementing and improving SOPs, standard work, and operational processes.
• Strong EH&S compliance knowledge and 5S methodologies.
• Extensive knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, parts, and tools.
• High proficiency in CAN/LIN architecture, wiring diagrams, and soldering.
• Willingness to travel locally and nationally (50%+), with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full team lifecycle: workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management to build high-performing teams.
• Coach technicians and leads with clear expectations and ongoing feedback.
• Develop and enforce SOPs across all workflows with audit-ready documentation.
• Use data and root cause analysis to improve throughput and fleet uptime.
• Ensure tools, parts, and facilities are standardized and available to meet demand.
• Uphold EH&S and 5S in a clean, safe work environment.
• Identify and mitigate risks; manage corrective and preventive actions.
• Set and track KPIs for fleet readiness, quality, and downtime.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Test, and Facilities to align execution with roadmaps.
• Drive scaling initiatives for fleet growth and new sites.
