Job summary

The City of Riverside invites applications for the Fleet Management Supervisor, Central Garage Division, to oversee day and evening shifts as needed. The role supervises a crew of mechanics and semi-skilled workers in the repair and maintenance of a wide range of vehicles and equipment.

Under supervision, you will plan, assign, and review work, prepare cost estimates, and ensure adherence to safety and city policies. Strong supervisory and diesel/alternative fuel experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Three years of journey level automotive mechanic experience with supervisory exposure.
• Experience with regulatory agencies (CARB, SCAQMD, CALOSHA, etc.) is desirable.
• Experience with computer-based management systems (Asset Works or RTA360 a plus).
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, supervise and review the work of mechanics and semi-skilled workers in maintenance of automotive, construction, and mechanical equipment.
• Prepare computer generated work orders and reports.
• Assist in budget preparation and administration.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and city policies.
