The City of Riverside is seeking a skilled MECHANIC for the Central Garage Division of the General Services Department. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair a range of diesel, CNG, and gasoline powered vehicles and equipment, including fire and emergency assets.

Responsibilities include engine tune-ups, brake and HVAC repairs, tire service, and emergency field repairs as needed. A Class C license is required, with Class A after probation; ASE certification is desirable

Formación

• Education: High School diploma or GED plus specialized training in diesel maintenance desirable.
• Experience: 3 years automotive repair, including skilled servicing of heavy equipment; alt-fuel experience desirable.
• Licenses/Certifications: Class C license required; Class A license after probation; ASE certification desirable and required within probation.

Responsabilidades

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and diagnose mechanical defects on city vehicles and equipment.
• Service fire equipment, compressed natural gas filling stations, and generators; perform related repairs.
• Assist in engine tune-ups, overhauls, and repairs across drivetrain, brakes, electrical, suspension, and HVAC systems.
• Repair tires, balance wheels, and perform mounted replacements on city vehicles.
