Waste Pro is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the fleet maintenance division, ensuring reliability, safety, and cost‑effective performance across the fleet. This role partners with regional management to optimize maintenance processes and driver support.

The ideal candidate holds 15+ years in fleet management, with strong project management, data analysis, and cross‑functional leadership. Expect a demanding environment with emphasis on EPA/DOT/OSHA compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 15+ years of progressive hands‑on experience in fleet management (Preferred background in Waste Services, Transportation, Maintenance, Parts administration)
• Solid project management, resource planning, oral and written communication skills.
• Specialized understanding of maintenance procedures and general knowledge of industry regulations (EPA, DOT, OSHA).
• Ability to manage complex and dynamic situations requiring strategic and tactical priorities.
• High degree of autonomy, yet team oriented with cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, coach, performance manage, schedule work assignments and overtime.
• Maintain a preventive/corrective maintenance program as the standard for service.
• Review status reports on road calls, breakdowns, parts, repairs and safety performance.
• Provide hands‑on maintenance assistance as needed.
• Educate drivers on DVIRs, fleet operations, and CDL basics.
• Input and manage maintenance data in the vehicle maintenance system.
• Monitor efficiencies, inventory, goals, and reporting.
• Assist in purchasing new vehicles, equipment, tools and containers.
• Establish maintenance training sessions to improve fleet condition and driver knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, DOT, OSHA regulations and coordinate with Safety teams.
• Ensure efficient utilization, vehicle maintenance quality, and readiness for lines.
• Manage fleet inventory/condition reporting and divisional budgets.
• Oversee cost controls and vendor/service modifications.
• Analyze service issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Support metrics and diagnostic reporting tools for fleet performance.
