Job summary

Waste-Pro is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the Division's maintenance staff and oversee fleet/equipment maintenance programs. The role partners with Regional Maintenance Manager and Operations to ensure vehicle reliability, safety, and cost-effective performance.

Responsibilities include hiring, training, and performance management; overseeing preventive/corrective maintenance; reviewing reports; and ensuring compliance with EPA, DOT, OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• A High School diploma is required.
• Requires 15+ years of progressive hands-on experience in fleet management (Preferred background in Waste Services, Transportation, Maintenance, Parts administration).
• Solid project management, resource planning, oral and written communication skills.
• Specialized understanding of maintenance procedures and general knowledge of industry regulations (e.g. EPA, DOT, OSHA).
• Ability to manage complex and dynamic situations requiring strategic and tactical priorities.
• High degree of autonomy, yet team oriented with ability to work cross-functionally within a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Manages departmental hiring, training, coaching, performance management, discipline, scheduling of work assignments, and overtime authorization.
• Maintains an ongoing preventive/corrective maintenance program defining service standards.
• Reviews status reports including road calls, breakdowns, parts inventory, repairs, and safety performance.
• Provides hands-on maintenance assistance as needed.
• Education of driver responsibilities related to DVIRs, operation of fleet vehicles, and basic CDL requirements.
• Assures all maintenance-related data is input in the vehicle maintenance system.
• Monitor efficiency to improve inventory control, performance, and reporting.
• Assist in purchasing of new vehicles, equipment, tools and containers.
• Establish maintenance training sessions to improve fleet condition and knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA regulations and coordinate with Safety teams.
• Drive cost control, vendor management and continuous improvement in maintenance processes.
• Develop metrics and diagnostic reporting tools to support fleet quality and maintenance performance.
