Job summary

Republic Services seeks a Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance of up to 60 vehicles (diesel and alternative fuel) and lead a technicians team to ensure repairs are done safely and efficiently. Responsibilities

• Provide direction to technicians and may manage a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to ensure repairs are performed safely, efficiently, and timely.
• Oversee planning and scheduling of repair work to increase productivity and manage overtime.
• Monitor shop performance and implement improvements; report to management on shop performance.
• Manage lead technicians and supervisors, oversee training and performance evaluations, and participate in merit decisions.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs for assigned locations and control costs related to personnel, purchasing and outsourcing.
• Conduct quality control inspections and ensure compliance with safety and regulations.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission, transmission, braking, hydraulic, electrical systems and welding as it relates to heavy equipment.
