Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a Fixed Asset Supervisor to oversee the asset accounting function for our fleet and facilities. You will manage the Fixed Asset Accounting Clerk, maintain ledgers for book and tax, and ensure accurate month-end reporting in alignment with US GAAP and tax requirements.

You will collaborate with multiple departments to monitor project costs, perform reconciliations, and support SOX controls while contributing to timely financial close.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of fixed asset accounting, reporting, and monthly close.
• Thorough understanding of asset capitalization standards and accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Excel (lookups/pivot tables) and SAP.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical/problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day activities of the Fixed Asset Accounting Clerk.
• Maintain fixed asset ledgers for book and tax.
• Monitor fixed asset acquisitions/disposals for rolling stock fleet; assist with unit number coding.
• Ensure proper classification of capital vs. expense items in GL accounts.
• Support IT/maintenance/real estate project cost tracking and GAAP/tax adjustments.
• Prepare month-end rollforward schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Record depreciation, disposals, capitalized interest, and related adjustments.
• Ensure SOX 404 compliance over fixed asset processes and support audits.
• Assist with budgeting, asset validation, and reporting packages for fleet tracking.
