Job summary

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) seeks a Senior Fixed Assets Analyst to oversee asset accounting across FAACS, LAS Plus, and Cardinal Financials. You will track, reconcile, and report on major and minor assets, including CIP and SBITAs, ensuring GASB compliance and audit readiness.

You will coordinate annual inventory, manage asset data, and support system enhancements to improve financial reporting and operations within the Controller’s Office.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of governmental accounting principles including GAAP and GASB standards, and CAPP Manual where applicable.
• Experience maintaining fixed assets and lease records with related systems.
• Ability to analyze fixed assets and lease data, resolve discrepancies, and prepare reconciliations and reports.
• Experience applying accounting standards and internal controls for fixed assets and leases.
• Experience maintaining accurate records in financial or asset management systems to support reporting and audits.

Responsibilities

• Manage AMS and reconcile with FAACS.
• Coordinate annual fixed asset counts for controlled and capital items.
• Oversee inventory for titles, tags, plates, decals, and credential paper; ensure accuracy and reporting.
• Prepare year-end schedules and support audits; administer AMS access and security controls.
• Drive financial modernization through automation, system integration, and reporting improvements.
