Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is hiring a Fixed Asset Supervisor to oversee the asset accounting function and the Fixed Asset Accounting Clerk. The role ensures accurate recording, depreciation, and disposition of fixed assets while supporting month-end reporting and SOX controls.

Must have a Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting and 5+ years in fixed asset accounting, with strong Excel and SAP skills. On-site role with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within OD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in fixed asset accounting and monthly close.
• Strong knowledge of asset capitalization standards and GAAP.
• Proficiency with Excel (lookups, pivot tables) and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Fixed Asset Accounting Clerk and daily activities.
• Maintain fixed asset ledgers for book and tax purposes.
• Monitor asset acquisitions and disposals for fleet assets and assist in coding.
• Record depreciation, gains/losses on disposals, and capitalized costs.
• Ensure month-end close tasks, reconciliations, and SOX compliance.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages for fixed assets and fleet metrics.
