Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team seeks a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join the North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. The role involves leading large, complex projects, and supervising a team through all project phases to ensure on-time delivery and client satisfaction.

You will conduct building and life-safety code reviews, prepare technical reports, and contribute to business development. Requires P.E.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• Masters in Fire Protection is preferred but not required.
• P.E. license or NICET IV certification required by role.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex projects and coordinate internal/external teams.
• Conduct building, fire, and life-safety code reviews and analyses.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Engage in design development using sketches, models, diagrams.
• Lead project coordination meetings with clients, owners, and consultants.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to staff to develop technical skills.
• Quality assurance on projects and peer reviews.
• Develop new standards and specifications for the fire engineering group.
• Define project scope, budget, and design approach.
