Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas.

You will act as the subject matter expert for fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and applicable codes. The role includes design reviews, inspections, quality assurance, submittal reviews, acceptance testing, and coordination with project teams throughout all phases of construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college.
• PE license required.
• Minimum of five years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Familiarity with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Experience with USACE or federal projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with stakeholders on fire protection features.
• Perform reviews and QA of pre-construction through post-construction activities.
• Conduct inspections in compliance with project docs and contract requirements.
• Prepare technical reports identifying deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Provide guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Review contractor submittals and RFIs.
• Coordinate final acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
