Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas.

You will act as the subject matter expert for fire and life safety systems, ensuring UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards compliance across design reviews, inspections, QA, submittals, and acceptance testing, while coordinating with project teams. The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, a PE license, and at least five years of fire

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• PE license required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
• US Army Corps of Engineers or other federal project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of fire protection requirements related to UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders for fire protection features.
• Perform BCOES and plan-in-hand reviews, applying lessons learned from all project phases.
• Conduct inspections in compliance with project documentation and contract requirements.
• Provide technical guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Review contractor submittals and provide technical comments.
• Evaluate RFIs and review field changes.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance testing of fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems.
