Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. invites a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas.

The role serves as the SME for fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and applicable codes throughout design reviews, inspections, and testing. The candidate will coordinate with project teams, perform plan-in-hand reviews, verify QA, and provide technical guidance to government personnel and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
• PE license required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Understand UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA fire protection requirements.
• Attend project meetings with stakeholders to ensure fire protection features are implemented.
• Perform reviews, inspections, and QA for fire protection systems and life safety.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and field changes with contractor teams.
• Schedule and conduct acceptance testing of fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems.
