Job summary

Accura Engineering in Houston, TX seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support Fort Hood project activities. You will act as the subject matter expert for fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and related codes.

The role involves design reviews, inspections, QA, submittal reviews, acceptance testing, and coordination with project teams across all construction phases. PE license and 5+ years' experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• PE license is required.
• Minimum five years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Experience with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards and fire/life safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire protection engineering support for federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX.
• Serve as SME for fire and life safety systems and ensure code compliance.
• Review designs, conduct inspections, QA, and submittal reviews.
• Coordinate with project teams through all construction phases.
• Perform acceptance testing and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
• Guide government personnel and project managers on fire protection features.
