Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas. You will serve as SME for fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and applicable codes.

Responsibilities include design reviews, inspections, QA, submittal reviews, acceptance testing, and coordination with project teams through all construction phases. USACE or federal project experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
• USACE or other federal project experience preferred.
• Experience with QA, commissioning, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• Familiarity with RMS/QCS and federal construction management practices.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with government personnel, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire protection engineering support for federal construction projects.
• Serve as SME for fire and life safety systems and ensure compliance.
• Perform design reviews, inspections, QA, submittal reviews, acceptance testing.
• Coordinate with project teams throughout all construction phases.
• Review contractor submittals and RFIs.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance testing of fire systems.
• Provide technical guidance on facility design and fire protection features.
• Support project managers and government personnel as a fire-safety consultant.
• Document deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
