Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to provide expertise for federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX.

You will ensure compliance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and applicable codes, leading design reviews, inspections, QA/QC, submittal reviews, and acceptance testing. You will coordinate with government personnel and project teams, perform risk assessments, and provide technical guidance on fire protection systems and facility design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• PE license required.
• Minimum of five years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Familiarity with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or federal project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand fire protection requirements per UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Review designs, perform plan-in-hand reviews, and conduct inspections.
• Lead QA/QC and acceptance testing for fire protection systems.
• Provide guidance on facility design and fire protection features.
• Review contractor submittals and RFIs; respond with comments and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with codes and policies; prepare technical reports.
