Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer with a strong background in data center and industrial environments to lead fire protection design for mission-critical facilities. You will partner with Mechanical, Electrical Engineers, Architects, and clients to deliver robust protection strategies and manage projects end-to-end.

The role requires PE licensure, data center experience, and a collaborative, senior-level guidance style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection (U.S.) required
• Demonstrated experience designing fire protection systems for data centers, mission-critical facilities, or high-tech industrial environments
• Knowledge of NFPA codes including NFPA 13/20/22/24/72/75/76; IFC/IBC/FM Global guidelines
• Experience delivering Issued for Construction (IFC) design packages in complex environments

Responsibilities

• Lead the fire protection design for data center and mission-critical facility projects, ensuring reliability and uptime
• Develop construction-ready design packages with drawings, specs, and BIM models
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
• Collaborate with MEP teams to integrate fire protection in high-density environments
• Support business development with proposals, cost estimates, and client engagement
• Perform site assessments and fire protection studies for data centers
• Utilize tools like Revit, BIM platforms, AutoCAD, Navisworks, HydraCAD, Sprink Cad FDT, Aspire
• Maintain client relationships and advise on fire protection strategies for data center projects
